Cayman Islands Defeat Germany Again, Leave Them Winless at the Tournament

The game for 11th place brought a rematch between the Cayman Islands and Germany after their group-stage meeting, which the Cayman Islands had won convincingly 7–0. This encounter followed a similar script, with Claude Plamondon opening the scoring just 20 seconds into the game to set the tone for another dominant performance. The Cayman Islands found the net four times in each period, while Germany only managed to respond with two goals in the third. The Cayman Islands wrapped up their tournament campaign with an emphatic 12–2 victory, while Germany finished the competition without a single win.

Scott Sparks: "Given everything we've been through, I think this it was a nice way to finish a tournament. It is true that we had higher expectations before the championship, but all in all, guys played hard and it was a good tournament. Next year we'll come back stronger."

Caleb Hayward: "Cayman Islands have a very good team, on the other hand we were a step slower today. When I look back at the whole tournament, we really improved from game to game. This result may not reflect that, but we had a lot of injured guys and especially the day before we showed that we can hang some of the teams here. This was our first tournament after a long time and I believe this is just a beginning. And what about the trophy? We'll take it to Ostrava and if it survives, we'll find a nice home for it."
