James Mentis (USA): "Our goalie really held us in early on. They put a lot of pressure on us right from the start, but we persevered and took control of the game in the third period. The key moment in breaking that 1-1 tie was definitely getting goal number two. We desperately needed that to solidify things, and it really got us going. As for upgrading last year's bronze medal? We are only here for gold. We came here to win the gold medal, and that’s it."

Tibor Kapánek (SUI):"Right now, it’s just a massive disappointment. We had been preparing for this specific game for a whole year with the clear goal of winning it and reaching the final. Unfortunately, everything fell apart in a span of fifteen or twenty seconds. We had a bit of a slow start in the first period and showed too much respect, but from the sixth minute onward, we gave it everything. Our effort resulted in a goal in the second period, but unfortunately, we couldn't add a second one despite having the chances. In the third period, they punished every single mistake we made. We knew they were strong in front of the net, yet they managed to score on a one-timer and then immediately put one right under the bar. Once we opened up the game in the end, they made it 1-3 from a breakaway and then added an empty-netter. At that point, it doesn't matter if you lose by one goal or five. Our performance wasn't bad; we just simply couldn't score more goals. On the bright side, we are incredibly grateful to our fans for traveling such long distances to support us. Whether it’s the World Championship or club tournaments, they follow us everywhere. It’s an amazing experience for them and a huge boost for us. We really wanted to get the win for them, but unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be."
