India Wins B Final Over France

India faced France in the B Final, renewing their group-stage matchup after previously claiming a comfortable 6–2 victory. The rematch followed a similar script, with India taking a 2–0 lead after the opening period and extending it to 4–0 before France briefly threatened a comeback with two quick goals. However, India quickly regained control and scored the final three goals to seal a dominant 7–2 win. JK Gill and Taj Grewal each found the net twice as India finished the tournament in seventh place, while France ended their campaign in eighth.

COACHES´ REACTIONS

Karny Dhillon (IND): "I'm happy with the outcome. We knew France was going to be a tough task. But I think we played well overall and we came out successfully, we won the B-pool, so now we regroup and go to the A-pool. It's a big statement for India coming back. Our first line Atwal - Ghaliwal - Gill played awesome and that's why I wanted to put them together, we relied on them during the whole tournament."

Sebastien Brassard (FRA): "We know India has a good team, we knew they put a lot of pressure. Obviously, we didn't want to stay all game in our defensive zone, but they were faster than us, they were first on the ball and then we had trouble getting back. Guys gave it all to the semi-finals and today there wasn't so much left in the tank. The two goals in the second period were big for us, but sadly they scored a goal just after that, so they cut our legs off. Today we gave everything we had. Our goal was to earn the gold, now we have silver. It's a great step for the France Hockey Ball Federation and we expect next year to go better."
