COACHES´ REACTIONS
James Cormier (CAN): "We told the team right from the get-go that we wanted a workmanlike mentality and a much higher pace. We knew that our opponent hadn't faced the kind of pace we can produce, and we took full advantage of it. Tactically, the thing I liked the most was our power play. In the first period, it was a tight 1-0 game for a few minutes, but then we got a four-minute power play and scored twice. That was what I was most pleased with, as we really built our momentum there and carried it through the rest of the game. As for the opposition, we know a lot of those players and they know us, so it's always a tricky situation. We didn't want the game to get too rough or turn into a battle where people could potentially get hurt. That was my biggest concern, but I think our team did a great job of just staying disciplined and sticking to our game."
Karny Dhillon (IND): "We knew they were going to be a very tough opponent. This is our first year back at the World Championship, so we were playing a really great team and the defending champions. We now know exactly where we stand and where we need to go from here. There is no shame in losing to them. We would have liked a closer game, but we played well and our team will learn from it. We still have a job to do, which is to play in the B pool and win it."
