India Scores Back-to-Back Goals to Beat France, Celebrates Second Victory

India started the game more actively and controlled the opening period. Early in the match, goalkeeper Blažek denied several Indian scoring chances. Nevertheless, India broke the deadlock in the 9th minute by scoring on a power play. During the remainder of the first period, the Indians failed to make use of a four-minute power play opportunity. Those missed chances cost dearly midway through the game, when Czech-born French forward Martin Kadlec scored the equalizer. Later in the second period, India pulled away by scoring two quick goals just nine seconds apart. France added late drama to the game in the third period thanks to a goal from Romain Auméras. India put the game beyond doubt with two quick-fire goals eight minutes before the final horn, eventually winning 6-2.

Karny Dhillon (IND): ,,It was our second game, so our process was a little further ahead, but I think we controlled the game from the first ball drop, played our style and get a couple chances with some goals. After two goals within few seconds in the last period the game changed and we take over the game, especially the goal on 5-3 was a massive kill and it allowed us to take control of the game."

Eric Golay (FRA): ,,We know this match against India is going to be a good challenge. They were fast, they do a strong forecheck, so we were mentally ready to defend. In the last period we weren't able to score during 5 on 3 powerplay, but we have a couple of young guys in a team and we just need to create chemistry. But overall I'm proud of my team, because the goal is to improve ourselves until the end."
