Czechs Defeat Slovakia Twice at the Boskovice Training Camp

The Czech men’s national ball hockey team claimed two valuable wins over Slovakia during their August training camp in Boskovice. Saturday’s clash delivered an offensive showcase with six goals past the Slovak netminder, while Sunday brought a tactical battle decided by the narrowest of margins.

The first of the two games took place on Saturday, with the Czechs starting aggressively. Vaněk opened the scoring off feeds from Ilušák and Kastner, but the visitors quickly equalized through Šatka. The second period belonged entirely to the home side – Vaniš scored after a setup by Kubíček, and then Kubíček himself struck on the power play from Zvonek’s assist.

The decisive run came in the final period. The Czechs capitalized on two more man advantages, with Bláha netting twice from passes by Zvonek and Čejka. Kucharčík made it 6–1 after a slick combination with Stromko and Bílý. Slovakia only managed to reduce the deficit late through Korbáš.

Sunday: Rozlílek Nets the Winner

Result: CZE – SVK 2–1 (1:1, 0:0, 1:0) | Shots: 28:12

Goals: Hanuš (Bláha, Čejka), Rozlílek – Olejník (Piják, Dubeň)

Czech lineup: Foršt, Novotný – Hanuš, Šlehofer, Vaniš, Palán, Fanderlik, Laurinc, Kubíček, Kastner – Jágr, Bláha, Rozlílek, Čejka, Kucharčík, Langr, Šíma, Vaněk, Pavlík, Bílý, Fraňo, Hájek

The second game followed a very different script. Slovakia tightened up defensively and kept the game level for long stretches. Hanuš put the Czechs ahead in the first period after fine work from Bláha and Čejka, but Olejník quickly restored parity.

Despite outshooting their opponents, the Czechs couldn’t break through in the middle frame. The decisive moment finally came in the third, when Rozlílek beat the Slovak goaltender to seal a 2–1 Czech victory.
